Foreign affairs committees of Russian Duma, China's NPC to hold monthly joint meetings - Russian MP Slutsky

BEIJING. Aug 26 (Interfax) - The foreign affairs committees of the Russian State Duma and the National People's Congress (NPC) of China will hold joint meetings every month starting from September, State Duma Foreign Affairs Committee head Leonid Slutsky said.

"Our interaction is on the rise. Starting from September, we will hold monthly joint meetings of the foreign affairs committees of the State Duma and the NPC," Slutsky told journalists.

"This very close format of interaction on dozens of key infrastructure areas of cooperation between Russia and China proves the relevance of the parliamentary diplomacy dimension," he said.

Slutsky is a member of the Russian parliamentary delegation led by State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin paying an official visit to China at the invitation of Chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress Zhao Leji.
