Agricultural production in Tajikistan rises 5% in Jan-July - media

DUSHANBE. Aug 25 (Interfax) - Gross agricultural production at all categories of farms in Tajikistan in comparable prices increased 5% year-on-year in January-July 2025, reaching 32.26 billion somoni, the Khovar National Information Agency of Tajikistan (NIAT) reported, citing the Department of Agriculture Statistics and Environmental Protection of the country's statistics agency.

In particular, crop production output amounted to 21.229 billion somoni (+1.9%) and livestock production 11.031 billion somoni (+11.4%).

The share of the Khatlon region in the country's total agricultural production for this period was 54.6%, and production in this region was 17.601 billion somoni (+4.1%).

The share of public farms in the total agricultural output was 14.4%, including in the Sughd region - 20.8%, in the Khatlon region - 11.9%, in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region - 6.6% and in cities and districts of republican subordination - 11.4%. The share of farm households accounted for 38.8% of total agricultural production and the share of personal subsidiary plots accounted for 46.8%.
