China maintains Russian fertilizer imports at 2024 level in Jan-July - Chinese customs
MOSCOW. Aug 20 (Interfax) - China imported almost 2.7 million tonnes of Russian fertilizers in 7M 2025, maintaining purchases at last year's level, according to data from China's General Administration of Customs.
In monetary terms, this figure amounted to $797 million, down 7% compared to the same period last year.
Imports of Russian fertilizers to China totaled 318,000 tonnes in July, increasing 5% year-on-year.
Supplies of potash fertilizers (the main type of fertilizer imported by China from Russia) for January-July 2025 amounted to 2.5 million tonnes, up 5%.
China's imports of potassium chloride from Belarus over the same period decreased 16% to 1.4 million tonnes.
In total, China imported 6.9 million tonnes of potash fertilizers in 7M, down 5% compared to a year earlier.
