Oil flow to Slovakia halted after Ukrainian attack on transformer substation - media
PRAGUE. Aug 18 (Interfax) - Russian oil supplies to Slovakia were suspended, the Pravda newspaper reported on Monday.
"This was first reported by Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto and later by the Slovak oil transportation company Transpetrol, stating that the problem had arisen outside Slovakia," the newspaper said.
The suspension of oil deliveries was caused by a Ukrainian attack on a transformer substation of the pipeline, according to Szijjarto's data. "Ukraine attacks this pipeline, and because of these Ukrainian strikes, oil supplies to Hungary are repeatedly cut off," Szijjarto said.
"The Hungarian minister did not clarify the time and place of the attack. He said that he spoke with Russian Deputy Energy Minister Pavel Sorokin who told him that specialists were working to repair the substation, but said it was still unclear when the power supply would be restored," the newspaper said.
