Sanctions against Russia not being evaded in Kyrgyzstan, president says

CHOLPON-ATA. Aug 15 (Interfax) - There have not been any cases of Western sanctions against Russia being circumvented in Kyrgyzstan, the Central Asian country's president, Sadyr Japarov said Friday in an interview with Kyrgyz news agency Kabar.

"On our part, not a single case has been reported of circumvention of sanctioned goods going to Russia," Japarov said.

He also said Kyrgyzstan pursues a multi-vector policy and is "prepared to cooperate with everyone."

"This policy will not change going forward. Whoever it is, if he is prepared to make an economic contribution to our country, the door is open to everyone. We're open to economic cooperation with everyone. And in political issues we take a cautious approach - measure seven times, cut once," Japarov said.
