U.S. Treasury Dept authorizes transactions prohibited by anti-Russian sanctions, but related to Alaska summit until Aug 20
WASHINGTON. Aug 13 (Interfax) - The U.S. authorities have withdrawn for several days from sanctions financial transactions, which are required for the summit of the U.S. and Russian leaders in Alaska, the U.S. Treasury Department said on Wednesday.
The relevant notice from the department said that such transactions are authorized until August 20, 2025.
As previously reported, U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold talks in Alaska on Friday.
