Kazakhstan to launch $9-mln plant producing farm animal feed from alfalfa in 2026
ASTANA. Aug 12 (Interfax) - An alfalfa processing plant designed to produce 60,000 tonnes of farm animal feed per year is under construction in the Kyzylzhar district of northern Kazakhstan, the press service of the Kazakh Ministry of Agriculture reported.
Worth 5 billion tenge or over $9.2 million at the current rate, the project is being implemented by Kazakhstan's Salar Farm LLP with the support of JSC Soltustik Social Business Corporation.
The plant is scheduled to launch in spring 2026 and will encompass the full processing cycle, including the artificial drying, baling and pelletizing of alfalfa grown on irrigated company-owned fields.
The high-protein feed product will target premium markets in China and the UAE.
According to open-source data, Salar Farm LLP was registered in Petropavlovsk in July 2024. The company's main activities are feed crop cultivation, feed production for farm animals and cattle breeding for dairy production.
