Russia holds top spot in number of tourists to Uzbekistan in H1 2025
MOSCOW. Aug 11 (Interfax) - The flow of foreign tourists to Uzbekistan increased by nearly 50% in January-June 2025, with the largest number of visitors arriving from Russia, data from the National Statistics Committee shows.
The number of foreign citizens who came to Uzbekistan for tourism increased 48.3%, or by 255,100, year-on-year to 783,700 in January-June 2025.
Russia led the way with 166,600 tourists visiting Uzbekistan in the first half of 2025, according to the statistics. Turkmenistan was in second place sending 123,000 travelers to Uzbekistan in the reporting period, and Kazakhstan was in third place with 77,700.
The top ten in terms of tourist arrivals in Uzbekistan also includes Kyrgyzstan (71,600), Tajikistan (49,100), China (39,100), Turkey (29,300), India (22,000), Italy (18,600), and South Korea (14,900).
In addition, Uzbekistan welcomed 14,700 tourists from Germany and 13,200 from the United States in the first half of 2025.
A total of 873,000 Russian tourists visited Uzbekistan in 2024. After Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, Russia was in fourth place in terms of the tourist flow to Uzbekistan last year.
