Launch of Russia's Luna 27 spacecraft moved to 2029 - Academy member Zelyony
MOSCOW. Aug 11 (Interfax) - The launch of the Luna 27A spacecraft has been moved from 2028 to 2029, while Luna 27B is due to be launched in 2030, academic supervisor of the Russian Academy of Sciences' Space Research Institute, scientific director of the Russian lunar program's first stage, Russian Academy of Sciences member Lev Zelyony told Interfax.
"These launches are always moved. This time to 2029, that's the real date," Zelyony said in reply to when Luna 27A might be launched.
Luna 27B will go to the Moon a year after the first spacecraft is launched, he said.
"One is going to the North Pole and the other to the South Pole. The order has yet to be determined," Zelyony said.
Then Roscosmos head Yury Borisov said on December 26, 2023, that the Luna 27 mission was scheduled for 2028.
