Tajikistan increases freight transportation 9.3% in H1

DUSHANBE. Aug 11 (Interfax) - Freight transportation by all modes of transport in Tajikistan amounted to 66.7 million tonnes in January-June 2025, up 9.3% year-on-year, the press center of the country's Economic Development and Trade Ministry said.

Road transport carried 63 million tonnes of cargo in 6M, up 9.2%, rail transport - 3.6 million tonnes (up 12.4%) and air transport - 0.1 million tonnes (up 5.5%), the press center said, citing the ministry's report on Tajikistan's socio-economic development in H1.

All modes of transport carried 511.1 million passengers during the reporting period, up 5.8% compared to the figure from the previous year, it said.
