Indonesia extends accreditation for Russia's Rosselkhoznadzor laboratories another three years
MOSCOW. Aug 8 (Interfax) - The Indonesian Quarantine Agency of the Agriculture Ministry has extended the accreditation for the laboratories of five branches of the Federal Center for Assessing the Safety and Quality of Agricultural Products (TsOK APK) Federal State Budgetary Institution, a department of Russia's Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor), for testing wheat, barley, corn, and soybeans intended for shipment to Indonesia for another three years as of August 5, Rosselkhoznadzor said.
This involves testing laboratories of the Moscow, Novorossiysk, Donskoy, Primorsk, and Omsk branches of TsOK APK.
According to the procedure in force in Indonesia, namely the resolution of the country's Agriculture Ministry "On registering testing laboratories to oversee the safety of fresh food products of plant origin in the Russian Federation", dated September 20, 2016, testing products of plant origin, including grain, when exported to Indonesia occurs only in Russian laboratories registered in the established manner, whose expertise is recognized by Indonesia.
"The latest and fourth consecutive successful accreditation of Russian laboratories confirms their full compliance with the requirements of international standards, as well as the high level of technical equipment and professionalism of the employees. This will contribute to the further increase in exports of grain products to the Indonesian market," Rosselkhoznadzor said.
Indonesia annually imports up to 11 million tonnes of wheat, 2.7 million tonnes of soybeans, and 1.2 million tonnes of corn, according to the statement.
According to Russia's Federal Customs Service (FCS), as cited by Rosselkhoznadzor, Russia shipped over 2.6 million tonnes of grain products to Indonesia in 2022-2025.
