Exporters utilize 648.3 tonnes of Russia's rice export quota by Aug 6 - Agriculture Ministry data
MOSCOW. Aug 6 (Interfax) - Exporters had utilized 648.3 tonnes of Russia's rice export quota by August 6, which was introduced on July 1, 2025.
"As of the current date, the remaining available tariff quota for rice and rice groats stands at 49,351,700 kg," according to materials from the Agriculture Ministry.
Thus, 648.3 tonnes have been utilized out of the total quota amount of 50,000 tonnes.
The quota for the export of rice groats and husked rice was introduced for the first time after the ban on July 1, 2022. It is in force until December 31, 2025. The intra-quota rate of export customs duty will be 0%, and the extra-quota rate will be 50%.
Meanwhile, the ban on the export of raw rice, which has been in effect since July 1, 2022, remains in effect. At the end of June, the government extended it until the end of 2025.
According to the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat), Russia's rice harvest reached a record 1.259 million tonnes in 2024, up from 1.073 million tonnes the previous year.
