Erdogan to visit Kiev soon - media

MOSCOW. Aug 5 (Interfax) - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will visit Kiev in the near future, Ukrainian media reported with reference to the Turkish publication Turkiye.

The visit will be of great diplomatic importance, particularly in the context of a bilateral free trade agreement, it said.

"President Erdogan will visit Kiev soon, and one of the key issues at the talks will be the approval of a free trade agreement," the publication quoted Ukrainian Ambassador to Turkey Nariman Dzhelyal as saying.

Ukrainian media reported later on Tuesday that Ambassador Dzhelyal denied reports saying that Erdogan would visit Kiev within the next few days.

In a commentary for Suspilne TV, Dzhelyal said that, while Ukraine was working on organizing Erdogan's visit on President Vladimir Zelensky's instructions, its dates had not yet been agreed upon and it had not been confirmed.
