Poultry meat prices in Russia stable - Agriculture Ministry
MOSCOW. July 31 (Interfax) - The price situation on the Russian poultry meat market is stable thanks to growing production, the Agriculture Ministry said.
"The growth of production is facilitating a stable price situation on [the poultry meat] market. According to data as of July 23, producer prices for chicken meat (whole birds) rose by just 5% in a year and averaged 168 rubles per kg. And consumer prices rose by 2.9% in 12 months and fell 0.1% in the past month," the ministry said.
All categories of farms produced over 3.5 million tonnes of poultry in the first half of 2025, 3% more than in the same period of 2024, the ministry said.
The head of the National Meat Association, Sergei Yushin said consumer prices on this market have remained stable for the past year.
"Furthermore, given production forecasts, one can expect that consumer prices for broiler meat will lag behind the rate of inflation to the end of the year. As for mechanically separated meat, a correction is taking place after a deep drop in prices in the first half of the year. Average prices for the year will not differ much from the average prices of 2024," Yushin said.
The CEO of poultry producers association Rosptitsesoyuz, Galina Bobyleva also said she sees no risk of an increase in retail prices for chicken meat. Prices for it remain at last year's level, she said.
The Federal Statistics Service reported earlier that consumer prices for chicken rose 0.23% in the week from July 22 to 28 and 1.2% from the start of the year.
