Zoom fined nearly 80 mln rubles in Russia

MOSCOW. July 29 (Interfax) - A Magistrate's Court found the Zoom service guilty of repeatedly failing to comply with Russian legislation and fined it nearly 80 million rubles, the court's press service said on Tuesday.

"A justice of the peace ordered an administrative penalty in the form of a fine of 79,609,733 rubles on Zoom Communications Inc.," the press service said.

The organization was found guilty of a repeat breach, which manifested itself in failing to comply with obligations stipulated by the legislation on foreign citizens' activities on the Internet in Russia.

Zoom was already fined 115 million rubles for operating in Russia without a branch or representative office in 2023. The organization was also repeatedly held administratively liable for failing to comply with the requirements for localizing Russian citizens' personal data in Russia.
