Aeroflot cancels some flights due to IT system failure

MOSCOW. July 28 (Interfax) - Aeroflot has announced a forced adjustment to its flight schedule due to a failure in the airline's information systems.

"Service disruptions may occur. As a result, forced adjustments to the schedule of operated flights are expected, including rescheduling and cancellations," the carrier said.

The company is working to minimize risks to its flight operations plan and restore normal service operations.

According to Aeroflot's website, on Monday, 19 of the airline's own flights and those of its subsidiary Rossiya from Moscow were canceled, along with 16 return flights, while 16 and 27 flights were delayed, respectively. Initially, around 370 flights from the capital and 381 return flights were scheduled.

From St. Petersburg, six Aeroflot flights were canceled, with an additional nine delayed, while four return flights were canceled and 16 were delayed. In total, 147 flights from the city's Pulkovo Airport and 148 return flights were originally scheduled for Monday.
