Trump believes Putin, Zelensky could meet in 2-3 months

WASHINGTON. July 25 (Interfax) - President of the United States Donald Trump said on Friday that Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky could meet in two or three months.

"It's going to happen, but it's going to happen two or three months from now," the White House's press pool quoted Trump as saying in response to a question about the prospects of a Putin-Zelensky meeting with Trump's possible participation.

On Wednesday, Vladimir Medinsky, the head of the Russian delegation at the third round of the Russian-Ukrainian negotiations, said that the conditions of the agreement need to be elaborated on for a possible Putin-Zelensky meeting, this meeting must be appropriately prepared, and then it would make sense.

"In order for such meeting to happen, it is necessary to work out the terms of the agreement in advance and understand what to discuss at this meeting. Because, in reality, such meeting must be dedicated to signing the agreement, putting a full stop, rather than discussing it [...]," Medinsky told reporters following the third round the negotiations on Wednesday, answering a relevant question.

"Meeting for the sake of discussing everything again, from scratch, makes no sense," he said.
