Demetra Holding denies report of talks to buy Rusagro Group assets

MOSCOW. July 24 (Interfax) - Russian grain trader Demetra Holding has denied that it is interested in acquiring the assets of one of the country's largest agribusiness groups, Rusagro , whose founder Vadim Moshkovich was arrested earlier this year on fraud charges.

Business daily Vedomosti, citing sources, reported on Thursday that Demetra is holding negotiations to acquire Rusagro Group's oil, fat and grain assets.

"In connection with the publication in newspaper Vedomosti of July 24, 2025 ("Under arrest Moshkovich might sell some assets"), we state that the Demetra Holding group of companies has not exhibited and is not exhibiting interest in acquiring any Rusagro Group assets and is not holding negotiations on this issue. The reports of our alleged interest are not true and distort the actual state of affairs," the group said.

"We strongly urge the newspaper and other mass media outlets to rely exclusively on the company's official statements when preparing materials on Demetra Holding's activities and refrain from disseminating inaccurate information that can hurt our business reputation," the group said.
