Next round of Russian-Ukrainian talks to address memorandums - Peskov
MOSCOW. July 22 (Interfax) - The next round of Russian-Ukrainian negotiations should focus on discussing the parties' draft settlement memorandums, and their exact date will be announced when the Kremlin is ready for that, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
"We hope that [the negotiations] will take place this week. As soon as we're ready, we'll announce the dates," Peskov told journalists on Tuesday.
"The subject of the negotiations is quite complicated, and apart from other matters, certainly, the parties will have to discuss those very draft memorandums that they exchanged during the second round," Peskov said.
In commenting on Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky's remark that during the third round of talks the sides will start discussing preparations for his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Peskov said, "A lot of work has yet to be done before some meetings at the high and the top level could be discussed substantively."
Peskov also said that a ban on negotiations with Russia was still in effect in Ukraine.
