Russia resolving matter on settlements for exporting coal with counterparty countries, payments remitted regularly - Energy Minister

MOSCOW. July 16 (Interfax) - The matter of payment for export deliveries of Russian coal amid external restrictions is being resolved individually with counterparty countries, and settlements are underway, Energy Minister Sergei Tsivilev in the Federation Council.

"We have encountered challenges with payments. We are currently resolving the matter separately with each country with which we cooperate, so that transfers are rendered in national currencies. We have made great progress in the matter. Deliveries abroad have not been stopped, payments are coming in quite regularly," Tsivilev said.

Tsivilev also said that the coal industry is currently facing "unprecedented pressure."

"These are sanctions, embargoes, and the loss of key high-margin markets to which we have traditionally supplied coal," he said.
