Zelensky planning to nominate Shmygal for defense minister
MOSCOW. July 15 (Interfax) - The experience of Prime Minister Denis Shmygal will be useful in the defense minister's position, Ukrainian media said, citing President Vladimir Zelensky.
"The colossal experience of Shmygal will definitely be useful in the position of the Ukrainian defense minister, the area concentrating the maximum of national resources, the maximum of tasks and a lot of responsibility," the media quoted Zelensky as saying in his address in the small hours of Tuesday.
Earlier on Monday, Zelensky offered First Deputy Prime Minister, Economy Minister Yulia Sviridenko to head the Ukrainian government. He said that he visions renovated government work as based on the experience of support for Ukrainian production and entrepreneurship Sviridenko has.
"I am counting on the sufficient support of parliament members of the new configuration of the Ukrainian government. It is important that the government quickly audits all agreements with our partners to see what's working and what needs to be reviewed or intensified," Zelensky said.
