FESCO sends first container train from Vladivostok to Nizhnekamsk

VLADIVOSTOK. July 15 (Interfax) - The FESCO transport company, which is under the Rosatom state corporation's control, has sent its first container train running from Vladivostok in the Primorye territory to Nizhnekamsk, Tatarstan, carrying import cargo to businesses in the Kama economic zone, the company reported.

FESCO's Kama Shuttle left the Commercial Port of Vladivostok (CPV), owned by FESCO, on July 11.

The calculated arrival time at the Krugloye Pole train station is 10-11 days. The train will then be sent to the One Belt One Road container terminal in Tatarstan, where the cargo will be distributed among the region's businesses via road transport.

The train to Nizhnekamsk carries a wide range of goods, including various polymers, from China, South Korea and Thailand. FESCO is currently in the process of forming the cargo base for the launch of the next container train along the same route from CPV, scheduled for the end of July.

At the TransRussia exhibition in March 2025, FESCO and the One Belt One Road logistics company signed a partnership deal on joint projects to expand the use of Tatarstan's One Belt One Road container terminal in container train transportation.

The FESCO transport group, whose parent company is PJSC Far Eastern Shipping Company (FESCO), owns assets in the port, railway and integrated logistics business. FESCO owns PJSC Commercial Port of Vladivostok , the FESCO Integrated Transport intermodal operator, the Dalreftrans refrigerated container operator, as well as the Transgarant and FESCO Trans companies.

The group manages terminal complexes in Novosibirsk, Khabarovsk, Tomsk, and Vladivostok. The company manages a container fleet of over 200,000 TEU and almost 15,000 flat cars. The group's fleet includes more than 30 vessels, which operate primarily on the company's own shipping lines. The controlling stake of 92.5% in FESCO was transferred to Rosatom as per Russian presidential decree in November 2023.
