Russian govt to invest 15 bln rubles in modular hotels
MOSCOW. July 14 (Interfax) - The Russian government will invest 15 billion rubles in modular accommodation facilities, including for camping and glamping, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said on Monday.
"A key element in the development of travel infrastructure is a larger number of rooms for holidays. This is why the government is assisting construction of modular hotels, including camping and glamping facilities. This is a type of accommodation rapidly built, fitting any landscape, and having a miniscule effect on the environment," Mishustin said at a meeting with government members.
In the past three years, 20 billion rubles have been disbursed to 65 regions, and 13,000 rooms have been built, he said.
"Now, we are allocating 15 billion rubles this year and in the next two years. That will go to 55 Russian constituent territories, including the new Russian regions, where more than 10,000 extra rooms will be built, including in the new regions," Mishustin said.
It is important to complete the projects within the approved timeframe and to make sure that they are safe and comfortable for living, he said.
