Data from Russian remote sensing satellites to be available to BRICS, SCO countries to monitor agriculture - RSS

MOSCOW. July 10 (Interfax) - Information from remote Earth sensing satellites for monitoring agricultural lands will be available to Russia's BRICS partners, as well as to the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), the press service of the Russian Space Systems holding company said on Thursday.

"Information from the satellites of the domestic orbital grouping of remote sensing in the form of ready-made service solutions for agriculture will be available to Russia's BRICS partners, as well as observer countries and, going forward, the EAEU and SCO countries," the press service said.

The press service said that the BRICS countries plan this year to create a strategic plan to solidify collaboration in the agricultural sector.

"We have already proposed to base the work of the new BRICS Agrarian Alliance on Russian technology in the area of remote sensing and services based on space information and artificial intelligence," JSC Terra Tech First Deputy CEO Maxim Boltachev said in the statement.

The parties will be able to access a single geo-information platform that receives data from satellite constellations of the participating countries, he said.

"They will also be processed there, as well as packaged into specialized analytical reports and digital products for users from government, scientific organizations and businesses," Boltachev said.
