Trump imposes tariffs on imports from Moldova
WASHINGTON. July 9 (Interfax) - U.S. President Donald Trump has sent a letter to Moldovan President Maia Sandu regarding the imposition of tariffs on Moldovan goods supplied to the U.S.
"Starting on August 1, 2025, we will charge Moldova a tariff of only 25% on any and all Moldovan products sent into the United States," the letter, which was published on the Truth Social network on Wednesday, said.
Letters about imposing tariffs were also received by the leaders of Brunei (also 25%), the Philippines (30%), Algeria, Libya and Iraq (all - 30%).
Trump has previously sent similar letters about imposing tariffs on goods imported into the U.S. to the leaders of seven countries: South Korea, Japan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia (all - 25%), South Africa (30%), Laos and Myanmar (both - 40%).
