Kazakhstan launches Central Asia's most powerful supercomputer
ASTANA. July 9 (Interfax) - Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited the Alemcloud National Supercomputer Center on Wednesday and took part in the launch ceremony of a supercomputer powered by NVIDIA H200 graphic processing units, the Kazakh presidential press service said.
The supercomputer's launch will become an important step in the digitalization of key industries, Tokayev said.
"The supercomputer will enable Kazakhstan to achieve significant progress in the development of digital technologies. Startups working in the development of neural network solutions, universities, research centers, as well as public and private companies, will be granted access to high-performance computing," the press service said.
The system was installed and launched in a new data center of the Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry Ministry in cooperation with international partners, it said.
The new supercomputer cluster is capable of ensuring the performance of up to two exaflops by the FP8 calculation method, which makes it the most powerful computing solution in Central Asia.
