U.S. Treasury Department's OFAC extends license for mandatory payments in Russia another quarter
MOSCOW. July 8 (Interfax) - The general license allowing U.S. parties to render various mandatory payments to Russia has been extended for another three months.
License No. 13 was initially issued by the United States Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), which is responsible for sanctions enforcement, in May 2022, and has since been extended multiple times. The latest version of the license, No. 13M, expired on July 9. On Tuesday, OFAC published license 13N, which is valid until October 9.
The content of the license is unchanged, permitting U.S. individuals and legal entities and their controlled entities to pay taxes, fees, import duties, acquire licenses, permits, certificates, and carry out other transactions necessary for everyday activities in Russia, without restrictions associated with the presence of Russian banks and government agencies on the sanctions list.
