Poliplast plans to launch Russia's first epoxy resin production in 2026 - Industry and Trade Ministry

YEKATERINBURG. July 7 (Interfax) - Russia's first epoxy resin production facility may appear in the Sverdlovsk region by early 2026, Deputy Industry and Trade Minister Mikhail Yurin said during the Innoprom-2025 international exhibition in Yekaterinburg.

"Here in the Sverdlovsk region, we hope that we will have domestic epoxy resin production in Russia by the first quarter of next year. One hundred percent of it currently comes to us through imports," Yurin said during the thematic session "The Role of New Materials and Chemistry in Enhancing Industrial Competitiveness."

This refers to Poliplast's facility in Pervouralsk, Yurin told Interfax on the exhibition's sidelines. He didn't specify the exact production start date.

The epoxy resin production project is being implemented with support from the Industry and Trade Ministry, Yurin said during the session.

As reported, in spring 2025 Poliplast Group began a production expansion project at its Khrompik facility (one of Russia's largest chromium compound producers) in Pervouralsk, which is worth more than 60 billion rubles. In May 2025, the company launched a new drying section in its calcium-free sodium monochromate production workshop.

The main construction work for new buildings is planned for completion in 2026, Poliplast Group Board Chairman Alexander Shamsutdinov said. The project's completion is expected to increase production volumes tenfold.

According to Poliplast's presentation during its bond offering on the Moscow Exchange, the company's 2025-2028 capital expenditures will total around 90.3 billion rubles. Most investment (70.9 billion rubles) will go towards Khrompik's development. The plant's modernization is expected to generate annual revenues of 40 billion to 60 billion rubles, compared to 3.5 billion rubles in 2024.
