Azerbaijan Railways discusses expansion of cargo transportation geography with Afghanistan

BAKU. July 7 (Interfax) - CJSC Azerbaijan Railways Chairman Rovshan Rustamov has held a meeting with Afghan Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Abdul Ghani Baradar, the company's press service said.

"During the meeting, the parties discussed expanding the geography of cargo transportation along the South Asia-Caucasus-Europe route and Afghanistan's integration into multimodal transport networks, including the Middle Corridor," the press service said.

Afghan representatives requested support in accelerating the export of their products through the Baku port.

In turn, Azerbaijan Railways expressed readiness to deliver goods of Afghan origin to European markets.
