Two-thirds of Moldovans oppose country's accession to NATO - poll
CHISINAU. July 4 (Interfax) - Two-thirds of Moldovan citizens are opposed to their country's accession to NATO, the findings of the Social and Political Barometer-June 2025 poll, conducted by the IMAS company, show.
If a referendum on Moldova's NATO membership were to take place today, 66% of the country's citizens would vote against it, 18% would support accession to the alliance, and 16% of respondents were undecided, according to the poll results, presented at a press conference on Thursday.
If a referendum on Moldova's accession to the European Union were to take place today, 43% of those polled would say 'yes', and 41% would say 'no'.
Meanwhile, if a referendum on Moldova's accession to the Eurasian Economic Union were to be held today, 43% of respondents would support it, but 32% would vote against.
If a referendum on Moldova's unification with Romania were to take place today, 62% of those polled would vote against, and 28% would support it. The other respondents could not answer the question.
A total of 1,116 people were interviewed in the June 17-28 public opinion survey. The margin of error was 3%.
