M.Video may begin expansion into CIS countries in 2026 - CEO

MOSCOW. July 3 (Interfax) - M.Video-Eldorado may begin work on entering the CIS countries in 2026, the retail chain's CEO Felix Lieb said in an interview with Interfax.

"One store could be opened in one and a half to two months, or six to seven months, depending on the situation in a particular location. I think that if we are talking about serious work, then we are talking about 2026," Lieb said.

Lieb did not specify which countries M.Video plans to enter.

The company previously reported that entering the CIS countries would be one of the provisions of the retailer's updated strategy.

Moreover, the company will focus on increasing the share of private labels and exclusive brands in the new version of the strategy. The share of private labels and exclusive brands was 21% in 2024 versus 15% in 2023.

"I think that if our share of private labels and exclusive brands approached 30% by 2027, then this would already be absolutely correct from the point of view of the company's assortment policy," Lieb said.
