H&N aims to increase halal dairy product exports to 100-150 tonnes in 2025
MOSCOW. July 2 (Interfax) - Health & Nutrition (H&N), the former Russian business of French food multinational Danone, plans to increase exports of halal-certified dairy products to 100-150 tonnes this year, the company said in a press release announcing that its Lipetsk Dairy Plant has secured the right to export halal products under the GSO 2055-1:2015 international standard.
"Getting a halal certificate for the Lipetsk Dairy Plant is another step in the development of the international business. Exports to countries in the Middle East open up substantial prospects for the company's growth. We see strong potential in this market, interest in Russian dairy products, and plan to systematically increase shipments to 100-150 tonnes by the end of 2025," H&N chairman Ruslan Alisultanov said in the press release.
The audit of the plant was done by GulfTIC-ICSC Halal, a joint venture between Russia's Halal International Center for Standardization and Certification and UAE certification body GulfTIC.
H&N shipped the first trial batch of 700 kg of dairy products, consisting of cream and ultra-pasteurized milk, to the United Arab Emirates in June.
The Lipetsk plant is the second H&N production facility to secure halal certification. The Yalutorovsky Dairy Plant underwent certification at the beginning of 2025 and also received a Made in Russia certificate.
The Lipetsk plant increased production by 18% to 95,000 tonnes in 2024.
