U.S. partially suspends arms supply to Ukraine based on Pentagon review

WASHINGTON. July 2 (Interfax) - The United States is suspending the supply of certain types of weapons to Ukraine due to concerns about a steep decline in national weapon stocks, Associated Press reported.

The Pentagon review has revealed that stocks of some previously declared weapons are too low, so their delivery is being suspended, an informed source told the agency.

"This decision was made to put America's interests first following a review of our nation's military support and assistance to other countries across the globe," White House deputy spokesperson Anna Kelly said.

NBC reported, citing its sources, that the weapons the deliveries of which are being delayed are dozens of Patriot interceptor missiles, thousands of 155mm high-explosive howitzer rounds, more than 100 AGM-114 Hellfire air-to-surface missiles, more than 250 GMLRS guided missiles, and dozens of Stinger surface-to-air missiles, AIM air-to-air missiles, and grenade launchers.
