Gloria Jeans founder Vladimir Melnikov returns as CEO
ROSTOV-ON-DON. June 27 (Interfax) - Vladimir Melnikov, the founder of Gloria Jeans, has been reinstated as CEO of JSC Gloria Jeans and JSC Gloria Jeans Corporation, with corresponding entries made to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities on June 26.
Previously, Alexander Tarasov held these positions from January 2025.
As reported, Tarasov replaced Maxim Basov, who was appointed CEO in June 2024. Tarasov previously served as deputy CEO for corporate development at PJSC Rusagro Group and was vice president of finance at Gloria Jeans from 2017 to 2022.
Melnikov has headed both companies on multiple occasions. He served as director of JSC Gloria Jeans from October 2024 to May 2022, and from November 2013 to November 2018.
This marks Melnikov's fifth term leading Gloria Jeans Corporation. His previous tenures as CEO were from October 2021 to June 2024, September 2017 to December 2018, November 2004 to July 2011 and December 2002 to July 2004.
According to notes accompanying the 2024 annual financial statements, as of December 31, 2024, VVM Investments LLC owned 99.99% of JSC Gloria Jeans Corporation, with the remaining 0.01% held by JSC Gloria Jeans.
As of December 31, 2023 (the most recent available data), VVM Investments LLC owned 99.99% of JSC Gloria Jeans, with Melnikov personally holding the remaining 0.01%.
A total of 100% of VVM Investments LLC is owned by Melnikov's personal trust, established on May 15, 2024. The trust acquired VVM Investments LLC in July 2024, with Melnikov having owned the legal entity directly prior to this.
Gloria Jeans designs, manufactures, and sells clothing and accessories. The retailer operates over 600 stores across more than 300 cities and maintains three logistics centers in Novosibirsk, Podolsk and the Rostov region. As of late 2024, Gloria Jeans had 10 production facilities. In January 2025, the company announced partial production closures. Commenting on the factory shutdowns, Melnikov told the Rostov-based newspaper Gorod N that the group's manufacturing segment was unprofitable.
