OPEC+ group will make production decision directly at July 6 meeting - Russian deputy PM

MOSCOW. June 27 (Interfax) - The decision on levels of oil production in August by the eight OPEC+ volunteer countries will be made directly during the meeting scheduled for July 6, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak told journalists.

"We'll review it during the meeting, as is traditional," he said.

The eight OPEC+ countries (Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iraq, the UAE, Algeria, Kuwait, Kazakhstan and Oman), which previously limited oil production by 2.2 million barrels per day, began easing restrictions in April and for three consecutive months - in May, June and July - decided to accelerate production increases, adding 411,000 barrels per day instead of the previously planned 130-140,000 barrels per day.

Western media reported citing sources that Saudi Arabia would like to maintain the same pace in August.
