Putin arrives at Eurasian Economic Union summit venue
MINSK. June 27 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived at the Independence Palace in Minsk for a summit of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko welcomed Putin to the residence.
The welcome ceremony for the EAEU heads of state, visiting Minsk, is taking place at the ceremony hall of the Independence Palace. The Supreme Eurasian Economic Council will meet there later today.
Lukashenko personally meets and welcomes the arriving guests. After the ceremony, the heads of state will pose for a joint photo and start a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council. It will begin in the narrow format followed by an expanded meeting with the heads of EAEU observer states and invited foreign guests.
The Independence Palace in Minsk is the official residence of the Belarusian president built in 2013. It hosts state events with foreign leaders and ambassadors, forums, conferences and congresses of international, political, economic and public organizations.
