Cybersteel launches 12 bln ruble production of seamless stainless steel pipes in Sverdlovsk region
YEKATERINBURG. June 26 (Interfax) - Cybersteel LLC has launched production of seamless stainless steel pipes in Pervouralsk in the Sverdlovsk region, which are used in nuclear power plants among other applications, the Industrial Development Fund (IDF) said.
Investment in the plant's expansion totaled 12 billion rubles, with 5.2 billion provided by the IDF as preferential loans.
With the new production line, the enterprise aims to broaden its range of instrument-grade, heat-exchange and general-purpose pipes for high-tech industries while increasing output of steam generator tubes for NPPs.
Over 150 units of equipment were installed, boosting stainless steel production capacity 1.7-fold to 15,100 tonnes annually.
"This will enable the company to halve imports of seamless stainless pipes from China, reducing them to 25% of market volume, while fully meeting domestic demand for high-tech pipe products," the IDF said.
According to Cybersteel CEO Stanislav Veliky's estimate cited by the IDF, Russia's seamless stainless pipe market will grow to 31,000 tonnes by 2028. The company also plans to strengthen its presence in export markets outside the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), particularly in East Asia.
The company's pipes are currently used at NPPs in Egypt, Turkey, China, Bangladesh and CIS countries. In 2024-2025, Cybersteel underwent multi-level certification for supplies to nuclear facilities in Turkey and China.
The large-scale modernization of the facility took five years and created over 100 jobs following its completion, Sverdlovsk region Acting Governor Denis Pasler said on his Telegram channel.
Cybersteel's production facilities are located in Pervouralsk. The company was established in spring 2020 based on shop no. 7 of JSC Pervouralsk New Pipe Plant (formerly part of ChelPipe Group before its sale to TMK ).
