Russian aviation authority permits flights to Israel, Qatar, extends ban on flights to Iran and via Iraq, Jordan until July 4

MOSCOW. June 25 (Interfax) - The Russian Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) has updated its NOTAMs for Russian airlines as regards flights to the Middle East.

In particular, Rosaviatsiya has again permitted airlines to fly to Qatar, as well as to Israel between 7:00 a.m. Moscow time and 1:00 a.m. Moscow time. The NOTAM for Israel is valid until 2:59 a.m. Moscow time July 12.

At the same time, Rosaviatsiya has extended its ban on flights to Iran and through Jordan's, Iraq's, and Iran's airspace until 2:59 a.m. July 4. It recommended that Russian air carriers choose alternative routes.

"Rosaviatsiya is continuing to monitor the situation affecting flights in the Middle East. If the situation changes, Russian air transport operators will be duly informed," it said.
