Payment card turnover in Azerbaijan jumps 27% in 2024 - Central Bank

BAKU. June 24 (Interfax) - Payment card turnover in Azerbaijan in 2024 totaled 126 billion manat, or $74.1 billion at the current exchange rate, up 27% year-on-year, Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan Vusal Khalilov said.

"In 2024, the total turnover of payment cards issued by banks operating in our country exceeded 126 billion manat, which was 27% more than in 2023," Khalilov said on Tuesday during the Fintech Summit 2025 taking place in Baku.

Khalilov also said that the monthly volume of non-cash payments via payment cards had approached 10 billion manat, around $5.9 billion, according to data for April this year

The official exchange rate as on June 24, 2025, is 1.7 manat/$1.
