Foreign oil and gas companies have not yet shown interest in returning to Russian projects - Deputy PM Novak

ST. PETERSBURG. June 20 (Interfax) - Western oil and gas companies that exited Russian projects several years ago have not yet shown any initiative to return, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak told reporters on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) 2025.

"What has changed compared to when they fled? [...] No one has contacted me personally or written any messages," Novak said.

Novak also said that the government has already prepared a preliminary proposal on the criteria for foreign companies that wish to resume their activities in Russia.

"They [the criteria] are currently being discussed and improved," he said.
