The Agreement on Design, Construction and Commissioning of Section 2 Commissioning and the agreement on operation were signed with China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) and PipeChina.
The agreements govern the cooperation between the parties in the period during the launch and further operation of the gas pipeline's trans-border section to cross the Ussuri River in the vicinity of the Dalnerechensk town (Russia) and the Hulin city (China); inter alia, they cover the matters pertaining to operational control and technical maintenance," Gazprom said.
In February 2022, the long-term Sales and Purchase Agreement for natural gas to be supplied via the Far Eastern route was signed between Gazprom and CNPC. As soon as the project reaches its full capacity, the amount of Russian pipeline gas supplies to China is going to grow by 10 billion cubic meters.
