Russian co launching digital trading, logistics platform for agricultural commodities
MOSCOW. June 20 (Interfax) - Data1861 is launching an innovative sectoral trading and logistics platform in Russia that is intended to simplify and optimize trading and shipment of grain, grain legumes and oil crops, the company said.
The new digital tool will bring farmers, buyers, logistics operators and other market participants together on one platform, the company, which was founded in 2022, said in a press release.
The platform will help Russian farmers optimize trading and logistics, and make the market more transparent, efficient and accessible for all of its participants, company CEO Varvara Burlevich said in the press release.
"The point is that the created instrument will enable both the producer and the buyer to see actual prices for grain products on their basis, factoring in transportation, and make deals on them. The platform will also ensure complete transportation of products at the prices that it calculates and generate a complete document flow," Burlevich told Interfax.
The platform is available for registration and work throughout Russia. It will start operating on July 1, at the start of the new agricultural year, Burlevich said.
Marina Turyanskaya and Kirill Podolsky were also involved in the platform's development, the press release said.
Burlevich served as deputy head of the control department at Russia's Federal Tax Service until 2023 and was involved in various projects at the service to make markets more transparent. She has been involved in private business endeavors since leaving the Tax Service.
Turyanskaya previously served as CEO of grain trader Rodnye Polya LLC (known as RIF Trading House until 2024), which was transferred to the Federal Property Agency in a lawsuit filed by the Prosecutor General's Office.
Podolsky is involved in agricultural trading and information technology businesses. He previously owned agricultural group Valars and online travel services aggregator Anywayanyday, and was involved in the development of the Smartseeds platform for agricultural freight management.
