Russia, Iran to cooperate in film production

MOSCOW. June 10 (Interfax) - The governments of Russia and Iran are drafting an agreement on cooperation in joint film production, Russian Culture Minister Olga Lyubimova said on Tuesday.

"Indeed, cinematography is a key area for cooperation. New Russian and Iranian films are traditionally presented at major festivals, and there is regular exchange of delegations of filmmakers," Lyubimova said on Telegram after meeting with Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyyed Abbas Salehi.

The two governments are drafting an agreement on cooperation in joint film production, Lyubimova said. Russia and Iran are actively developing cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral formats, including BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, she said.

"Art education is a potential area of cooperation. I have proposed increasing the number of Iranian students in respective Russian universities," Lyubimova said.
