Former head of Kazakh iron ore miner SSGPO becomes new CEO of Metalloinvest's Lebedinsky Mining and Processing Plant

BELGOROD. June 10 (Interfax) - Sergei Napolskikh has been appointed managing director of Lebedinsky Mining and Processing Plant, part of Metalloinvest holding, Metalloinvest's press service said.

Napolskikh previously headed Kazakhstan's Sokolov-Sarbai Mining and Processing Production Association (SSGPO), part of Eurasian Resources Group (ERG).

Sergei Napolskikh led SSGPO in 2023-2024 - Kazakhstan's largest iron ore mining and processing enterprise. Prior to this, he managed Stoilensky Mining and Processing Plant and the ore division of NLMK, and also served as managing director of Evraz Kachkanarsky MPP. From 2006 to 2010, he was chief engineer and managing director of Vysokogorsky MPP," the press service said.

Napolskikh replaces Ildar Iskakov as the plant's managing director.

Ildar Iskakov, who had been managing the enterprise since June 2023, decided to continue his professional path outside the company," the press service said.

Lebedinsky Mining and Processing Plant is Russia's largest iron ore mining and processing enterprise, and the only producer of hot briquetted iron (HBI) in Russia and the CIS.

The Metalloinvest holding is the largest iron ore producer in Russia and the CIS, combining the Mikhailovsky and Lebedinsky mining and processing plants and Oskol Electrometallurgical Plant.
