Kazakhstan's KEGOC to absorb subsidiary EnergyInform by end of 2025
ALMATY. June 9 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan's national power grid operator, KEGOC, plans to fully integrate its subsidiary JSC EnergyInform by the end of this year, the company's managing director for strategy and sustainable development Elvira Konakhbayeva said.
"We previously announced our intention to merge our subsidiary [JSC EnergyInform] into KEGOC. A working group has been formed, and we are currently finalizing the process. I believe the deal will be closed by the end of the year," Konakhbayeva said during the Investor Day forum at Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE).
On April 28 this year, KEGOC announced plans for restructuring its subsidiary JSC EnergyInform.
"As part of efforts to reduce state participation in the economy, we are mulling the restructuring of JSC EnergyInform, including its further absorption by KEGOC. All decisions that will be made will honor the interests of employees and other stakeholders," the company previously said.
KEGOC, part of Kazakhstan's Samruk-Kazyna sovereign wealth fund, is the operator of the Kazakh national power grid. As at April 1, 2025, KEGOC's main shareholders were JSC Samruk-Kazyna (85.49%) and the Unified Accumulative Pension Fund (UAPF, 6.93%).
JSC EnergyInform, a 100%-owned subsidiary of KEGOC, was established in November 2010. The company specializes in diagnostics, design, installation, testing and operation of modern IT management systems and software complexes at energy enterprises.
