Novorossiysk port's development strategy envisions cargo turnover growth to 168 mln tonnes by 2030
MOSCOW. June 9 (Interfax) - The draft development strategy of Novorossiysk Commercial Seaport (NCSP) until 2030 projects an increase in the group's cargo turnover to 167.8 million tonnes per year, while maintaining the existing wide range of cargo types and attracting new clients, NCSP said in its draft 2024 annual report.
To achieve this target, the plan includes expanding NCSP's transshipment capacity by 27 million tonnes per year and increasing rail handling capacity to 73.4 million tonnes per year by 2030.
In 2024, work began on implementing a project to construct a mineral fertilizer terminal at Novorossiysk seaport. NCSP allocated 3.013 billion rubles for investment projects in 2024, the draft report said.
As reported, NCSP's cargo turnover fell 1.1% year-on-year in 2024 to 130.9 million tonnes.
Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port is one of Russia's leading stevedoring groups, with assets in Novorossiysk, Krasnodar Territory; Primorsk, Leningrad region and Baltiysk, Kaliningrad region. Transneft is the largest shareholder in NCSP, and the government owns 20% of the shares.
