RFC co-owner Stanislav Aksyonov appointed head of Fishery Shipowners Association
MOSCOW. June 3 (Interfax) - Stanislav Aksyonov, who chairs the board of the Fishery Shipowners Association (FSA), has been appointed as its president.
"Association members decided to combine the positions to improve management efficiency," the FSA said.
Aksyonov also serves on the boards of directors and is a co-owner of Russian Fishery Company LLC (RFC) and the Russian Crab group of companies.
Prior to working in the fishing industry, he headed government relations at OJSC Irkut Corporation and worked in the international activities department of the Emergency Situations Ministry.
The Fishery Shipowners Association (FSA) was established in 2016. The professional association unites 37 marine industrial fishing companies. The fishing and processing enterprises within the FSA employ over 10,000 people. Association members account for around 60% of investment in the industry's development. Their investment projects include the construction of more than 50 vessels for fish and crab harvesting and processing.
Association members account for approximately 30% of Russia's total marine aquatic bioresources catch.
The association promotes Russian fish products on domestic and international markets, primarily deep-processed products like fillets, mince and surimi.
