Currency, gold investment yield of Russia's NWF at 0.21% in 2024

MOSCOW. June 2 (Interfax) - The yield on the National Wealth Fund's (NWF) assets placed with the Central Bank of Russia, calculated in a basket of approved foreign currencies and non-personalized gold, amounted to 0.21% annually for 2024 and 0.99% since the fund's establishment, the Finance Ministry said.

In 2023, these figures stood at 0.14% and 1.04% respectively, compared to -0.05% and +1.1% in 2022, -0.05% and +1.18% in 2021, and 1.02% and 1.28% in 2020.

The ruble-denominated yield reached 0.37% for 2024 (12.64% since inception). This compares to 8.44% (13.39%) in 2023, -6.03% (13.73%) in 2022, -2.98% (15.12%) in 2021 and 26.08% (16.51%) in 2020.

The yield on NWF funds held in Chinese yuan accounts with the Central Bank (in account currency terms) amounted to 0.35% annually.

Total federal budget revenues from NWF investment in permitted financial assets reached 484.704 billion rubles in 2024. This follows 358.347 billion rubles in 2023, up nearly sevenfold compared to 2022's 52.344 billion rubles, 257.293 billion rubles in 2021 and 345.337 billion rubles in 2020. Dividends from Sberbank ordinary shares accounted for 77.6% of total income (376.073 billion rubles). Interest on foreign currency accounts with the Central Bank contributed 11.028 billion rubles. Overall returns from other financial assets, including Sberbank dividends, totaled 473.676 billion rubles.
