Russian scientists plan to start using medications to rejuvenate aging cells - deputy PM

MOSCOW. May 28 (Interfax) - Russian scientists plan to receive and start to use medications able to rejuvenate aging cells in 2028-2030, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said.

"Towards the completion of the [New Technologies of Health Preservation] project, our scientists expect to receive and start using medications that can rejuvenate aging cells and restore their functions," Golikova said at the Russia and World: Healthy Longevity Trends forum on Wednesday.

According to Golikova's presentation, it is expected to happen in 2028-2030.

"The plan in the mid-term prospect [2026-2027, according to Golikova's presentation] is to develop panels and test systems to determine the biological age and organ and tissue aging processes," she said.

This will help even further speed up diagnostics of premature aging risks and age-related diseases and make it more accurate, she said.

"We could say some time ago that this was an unthinkable future, but today this is the reality we are working with," Golikova said.
