Russian Post resumes ground delivery services to China

MOSCOW. May 28 (Interfax) - JSC Russian Post has reinstated ground delivery of parcels to China, which was temporarily suspended in 2024 during the implementation of a new multimodal solution, the company told Interfax.

"The temporary format changes were related to revising ground export acceptance points from Russia. Russian Post has upgraded its ground delivery to China. The new solution utilizes multimodal logistics (railway and container transportation)," it said.

China currently ranks as the second most popular destination for postal exports, it said. Ground delivery enables Russian entrepreneurs to transport goods more economically than air freight and ship items prohibited on aircraft due to safety regulations (such as pressurized aerosols, oil-based paints, cosmetic lotions etc.).
